Shipping & Delivery Policy

At Sword & Board, we strive to get your order to you as quickly and safely as possible. Please review our shipping protocols and estimated timelines below.

1. Processing and Dispatch

We process orders six days a week. Dispatch timing depends on when your order is placed:

  • Same-Day Dispatch: Orders placed before 12:00 PM (Midday), Tuesday through Friday, are typically dispatched the same day, provided all items are in stock.
  • Next-Day Dispatch: Orders placed after 12:00 PM are generally dispatched the following business day.
  • Weekend Orders: Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday are packed over the weekend but will be collected by our couriers on the following Tuesday.

Note: Dispatch times are estimates and may fluctuate during high-demand periods or based on stock availability.

2. Combined Shipping (Pre-orders & Backorders)

To minimize shipping costs and environmental impact, Sword & Board operates a "ship complete" policy. If your order contains pre-order or backorder items, the entire shipment will be held until all items are in stock and ready to ship together.

Should you wish to part ship your order. Please contact us to make the arrangements. This will however use the shipping (Either Free or billed). An addition shipping charge will be added to cover the additional shipment.

3. Shipping Rates and Carriers

We utilize DSV as our primary courier partner. Alternative shipping via Postnet-to-Postnet is available upon request; please provide the specific Postnet branch address in your delivery notes.

4. Geographic Restrictions

Currently, Sword & Board only ships within the borders of South Africa. Due to supplier agreements, we cannot fulfill international orders. Any orders placed for delivery outside of South Africa will be cancelled and refunded in full.

5. Tracking Your Order

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking information.

  • Activation Lag: Tracking links typically become active within 24 hours of dispatch. This occurs once the courier has scanned the parcel into their hub.
  • Manual Tracking: You can track your parcel on the DSV ClientZone using your order number (e.g., SABG*****).

6. Estimated Transit Times

Please note that these are estimates provided by our couriers and apply from the date of dispatch.

  • Cape Town: 1 – 2 Business Days
  • Gauteng: 2 – 3 Business Days
  • Durban / Gqeberha: 3 – 4 Business Days

7. Lost or Damaged Parcels

If you suspect your parcel is lost, please contact us at info@swordandboardgames.co.za.

  • Claims Process: Couriers generally require a 30-day window from the date of dispatch before a parcel is formally declared "lost."
  • Resolution: Once a loss is confirmed, we will arrange for either a full refund or a replacement shipment at no additional cost to you.

8. In-Store Collection

Orders may be collected from our physical storefront at 7 Point Business Park, Milnerton. Please wait for an "Order Ready for Collection" notification before arriving.

  • Wednesday & Thursday: 11:00 – 23:00
  • Friday: 11:00 – 17:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 – 17:00
  • Sunday: 10:00 – 14:00
  • Public Holidays: 10:00 – 14:00
